OUR LARGEST LUMSDEN GRINDING MACHINE MEASURES 120” in diameter

This is further complemented by two 100” diameter machines and an array of smaller Lumsden and Snow grinders. For detailed machine sizes please see our Capacity list.

All our commercial grinding machines are capable of working to tolerances of /- .25mm thickness, grinding parallel within .20mm and achieving a 3.2 um (125 cla) finish

EDGE GRINDING

As a complement to our extensive grinding services we also offer the facility to grind the edges of rectangular plates.

The machine has a working tolerance of /- .25mm on length and width whilst edges are expected to be square within 10mm. The surface finish achieved by the machine matches that achieved by our commercial grinding machines - 3.2 um (125 cla)

STRESS RELIEVING

We provide stress relieving as part of our profiling and grinding services to our customers.

We have a fully automatic electric stress relieving furnace at our Poynton site.

FURNACE CAPACITY OF 3.5 TONNES

INTERNAL DIMENSIONS OF 2.3M X 1.7M X 1.2M

Stress relieving is carried out at

620 DEGREES CENTIGRADE

with determined soak times and controlled heating and cooling rates. Furnace charts are available on request
